Addendum to lease, I dont understand a thing! Help!?

We recived an Addendum to Lease notice at our apartment complex today. It says to start: Lessee hereby waives the requirement for personal or abode service for the service of any and all notices related to this lease, including but not limited to, five day, ten day, thirty day notices and summons related to legal proceedings, including but not limited to small claims or forcible entry and detainer actions... and it goes on and on. What does this mean?
